It’s quite obvious we all are living life to the fullest, fulfilling all our dreams and aspirations in a pretty fast life and instant generation. We want to have the best food and munch on fast foods and go crazy over electronics and spending a lifetime without budging a muscle, yet need perfect health and happiness without falling ill in the long run.
Nowadays, people seem to have lost patience and are seeking instant gratification; however, these so called short cuts for a healthier tomorrow don’t do any good as it might be giving you all the luxuries for the time being, but in years to come things could get harder than you would have imagined. If we go back and look into the lives of our older generations, they were never rushing to buy any electronic goods until they found it necessary or affordable. There were also times when everybody used to share or have a meal together in the family, things that are missing or probably not existing nowadays.
Now, we would discuss about simple things to be done today that would change the outlook for a better tomorrow.
Getting outside everyday
It’s no wonder technology has created many jobs and at the same time spoiled many lives too. We get up in the morning, brush our teeth hurriedly, log on
to social networking sites or even check mails, watch the television while eating breakfast and then sit in front of a computer the whole day getting home enough money that buys all our happiness at the moment, but quite completely forgetting it’s not entirely good to be on this routine for a long time. It is true technology has given us everything, and it also doesn’t mean we need to be trapped indoors for prolonged periods of time for enjoying whatever technology has given us. We should get out of the daily routine, switch off certain unnecessary things, go out and have a peaceful walk for about half an hour or so to get refreshed. It not only increases blood supply to various essential organs in the body, but also it refreshes the mind. Inhaling fresh air and basking in the sun have great benefits, the effects of which you would enjoy down the road.
Eating what you cook
Modern foods have a lot of fat and high cholesterol elements that we often forget as the taste could be memorable and you might be hooked on to it for a long time. Processed foods have a lot of junk with chemicals and preservatives added on to it and also contain lots of salt and sugar that could have serious implications such as making you lethargic and leave us helpless in the long run. It’s advisable to cook a decent meal all by yourself. The benefits are more as you know how you’ve cooked your food and also have the opportunity to add in more nutrients to it. Moreover, there’s plenty of exercise getting into making a meal, so in a way striking two birds at one hit by getting in a good self-cooked meal and also some exercise.
Dining with the family
Long lost traditional values like dining with family members is hardly seen these days. There’re proven benefits of eating together, things we don’t realize at the present time. There’s an increase in endorphins when you dine together as you interact with other family members, and
this connection helps by making you eat slowly. Food needs to be chewed several times before it could be sent down for proper digestion, and by eating slowly, processing the food becomes much easier for the body.
So, avoid unnecessary routine activities that you think are not feasible in the long run, make a wise decision, get around, go out for a walk, dine together with family and enjoy the benefits for old age is one living hell; act now and stay fit for a better health at old age.
